    F2i was established in January 2007 on the basis of a project set up by leading financial institutions

  • 2008

    First investment in renewable energy, a sector destined to become central for F2i

  • 2009

    Acquisition of Enel Rete Gas, the first step in what would later become through subsequent aggregations 2i Rete Gas, the first national operator in terms of extension of the gas distribution network managed

  • 2010

    F2i enters the water distribution sector with 40% of Iren Acqua
    F2i acquires Naples Capodichino airport, the first investment in a long series in the airport sector

  • 2011

    F2i enters the fibre optic sector with the acquisition of Metroweb. The company will be sold to Enel Open Fiber 5 years later

    F2i becomes the first private shareholder of SEA, the management company of Linate and Malpensa airports

  • 2012

    Turin airport joins F2i's airport network

  • 2014

    F2i invests in SIA, European leader in payment services
    Investment in E2i Energie Speciali, wind energy operator

  • 2015

    EF Solare is born, destined to become the first Italian solar energy operator

  • 2016

    The acquisition of 40% of Kos is the first in the social and healthcare infrastructures sector

  • 2017

    With the acquisition of Infracom, KPN Qwest and Mc Link, Irideos is born, the first Italian telecommunications operator dedicated to business customers

  • 2018

    F2i launches, through F2i Tower, a takeover bid for the acquisition of Ei Towers, the leading independent operator in the management of radio and TV infrastructures

    F2i enters the pharmacy sector, with the first acquisition of the current network of Farmacie Italiane

  • 2019

    It was the year of expansion abroad: Renovalia, a major solar energy operator in Spain, entered the portfolio, followed by Renovalia Tramontana, a Spanish wind energy operator. Kos takes over Charleston clinics in Germany.

    Acquisition of the port terminals of Carrara, Marghera and Chioggia.

    Sorgenia is acquired, the first operator integrated in Italy in technologies for the energy transition, with combined cycle, wind and biomass plants

    Acquisition of Compagnia Ferroviaria Italiana, the first independent rail freight operator in Italy

  • 2021

    F2i's airport network is enriched by Olbia Costa Smeralda airport. The airports in the F2i network become eight and serve 30% of Italian passenger traffic

    With the acquisition of ReLife, one of Italy's leading private operators in the recovery of paper and plastic , F2i enters the circular economy sector

    2i Energie Speciali exit

    IGS, the leading independent player in natural gas storage services in Italy, joins the F2i platform

    F2i expands its product portfolio with the first infrastructure debt fund with a target of 500 million euros

    Althea, now F2i Medtech, a leading company in the integrated management of biomedical infrastructures, joins the portfolio

    The social and healthcare platform expands to hospital services with the acquisition of HISI

  • 2024

    F2i enters the capital of Fibercop, the national fixed telecommunications network, alongside the Ministry of Finance. Assets under management reach €8.3 billion

    FHP Group, the first Italian operator in maritime-land logistics of bulk goods, is born through the integration of FHP Holding Portuale with Compagnia Ferroviaria Italiana
