Holding company listed on the Milan stock exchange. It started its activities in 2003 as an investment company focused on turn-around situations (by investing in companies in financial difficulties).

In 2004 it entered the renewable energy sector and from 2006 onwards it has been developing specific managerial capabilities in this sector.

Today its core business is electricity produced from renewable sources: wind, solar power and biomass combustion.
Its portfolio includes approx. 200 MW operating plants; 130 MW under construction / autorization plants; 2.400 MW under development plants (of which approx. 170 MW in advanced stage). In 2010, Alerion sold 19 MW solar plants to HFV.
On the basis of market capitalization, Alerion is one of the main independent renewable energy players listed on the Borsa Italiana.
