Since 1997, Aeroporto Friuli Venezia Giulia has been the management company of Trieste Airport, which represents an important hub for the entire North-East of the country as well as the primary border airport serving a basin that extends to neighboring European countries (Slovenia and Croatia). The airport is attached to the intermodal hub of Friuli Venezia Giulia, which allows integrated mobility by air, rail and road.
