Energy for transition

Renewable energy is of strategic importance not only to limit the impact on climate change, but also to strengthen the energy self-sufficiency of EU countries. In line with European decarbonisation objectives, major development investments are underway in renewables.

In 2022, IDF1 entered into the financing that supported the acquisition of one of the leading independent operators in Europe that boasts a twenty-year track record in the construction and management of assets for the production of energy from renewable sources (wind, photovoltaic and biomass) characterized by vertical integration and strong geographical diversification. The development plan provides for an increase in installed capacity from renewable sources, aimed at contributing to the global goals of decarbonization and independence from fossil fuels.

In 2023, IDF1 provided a loan to an operator in the renewable energy sector, aimed at supporting acquisitions and investments in support of the energy transition for the development of the hydroelectric, wind and photovoltaic sectors.

Finally, in 2024, in the wake of the funding disbursed in the sector, IDF1 supported the growth of an operator active in the production of energy from renewable sources and in the management of a network for charging electric vehicles.
